Remote Sensing

Remote sensing is the study of an area from a distance, from satellites and drones. One of AfSIS’s core activities involves the development of covariates from remotely sensed data. These covariates highlight land and climate characteristics that are used in the development of maps, predictive models, and reports.

The AfSIS products are divided into two classes: Land and Climate. All of the data products developed by AfSIS are Open Access and can be downloaded from AfricaGrids.
