Tom Hengl
Tom Hengl is a Senior Researcher at ISRIC – World Soil Information with expertise in spatial data analysis, digital soil mapping, and live soil databases. He specializes in developing automated analysis framework for mapping soil properties over entire continents at high spatial resolution. Tom’s specialty are open source software for statistical and geographical computing: R in combination with the Open Source GIS packages and open exchange data portals (soilprofiles.org and worldgrids.org). Tom is also the main creator/administrator of the plotKML package that aims at providing a universal platform for visualization of various soil data and the Global Soil Information Facilities (GSIF) package that will serve AfSIS and other GlobalSoilMap.net connected initiatives.
