Alex Verlinden obtained a PhD in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Gent, Belgium. He combines research, development and lecturing skills and experience in the fields of natural resources management and spatial information analysis. He has published over 15 international peer-reviewed papers on ecology, spatial analysis, remote sensing, geostatistics and on the interface between indigenous technical knowledge and conventional agricultural science. He has many years experience in project management and institutional development for various international donors and NGOs. He has worked for over 23 years in Africa and is a Namibian resident.
