Gerard Heuvelink

Gerard Heuvelink holds an MSc in applied mathematics from Twente Technical University and a PhD in environmental sciences from Utrecht University. He is currently employed as Senior Researcher in pedometrics with ISRIC – World Soil Information and Associate Professor in geostatistics with the Department of Environmental Sciences of Wageningen University. Dr. Heuvelink is recognized worldwide as a leading scientist in pedometrics and spatial uncertainty analysis and has over 200 scientific publications, about 80 of which appeared in peer-review international scientific journals. He chaired the Pedometrics Commission of the International Union of Soil Sciences from 2003 to 2006 and was president of the Netherlands Soil Science Society from 2004 to 2007. He was awarded the Richard Webster medal of the Pedometrics Commission in 2014. He is associate editor of the European Journal of Soil Science and Spatial Statistics and editorial board member of Geoderma, Environmental and Ecological Statistics, International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation and Geographical Analysis.
